Using non Uni-Go brand hitches and more.

If you wish to use a Tow Ball or a Receiver type hitch, then the following should be considered. Other hitch brands are set to a standard tow height (Approx. 325mm / 13 inches).This would be ‘hole set 1’ for the Uni-Go. There are four settings for the draw bar. Hole setting increases by 45mm / 1¾ inches.
Uni-Go have available adaptation to add a tow ball to the Uni-Go hitch (Part No.T3275) for those who wish to use two trailers with a Uni-Go brand hitch on the bike. Keep in mind if you have a bike that is listed above with a hole set greater than ‘1’ then the draw bar off the second trailer will rise by an increment for every count off the hole set.

Be sure the hitch is up to the job. Many hitches are designed for push / pull affect. Uni-go hitches are designed for those and the twisting affect that a single wheel trailer would apply. To test the hitch’s suitability, have someone set on the bike, grab the tow ball in your hands. Try and swing the hitch side to side while assessing the movement using the tire as a datum point. If you are getting more than 20mm / ¾ of an inch sideward movement the hitch is not suitable for the Uni-Go. This movement will allow the Uni-Go trailer to generate speed wobbles at speed.
